Castoldi’s Jujitsu

Real-World Self Defense Training in Arlington, MA

At Castoldi’s Jujitsu, we teach practical self defense designed for real-life situations, not just competition or demonstrations. Developed by Professor Dave Castoldi, this unique self defense system combines principles from Small Circle Jujitsu, Wing Chun, Judo, Wrestling, and street-proven defensive tactics to prepare students for the situations they are most likely to encounter.

Located in Arlington, Massachusetts, our school welcomes students from throughout the Greater Boston area, including Belmont, Boston, Burlington, Cambridge, Framingham, Lexington, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Natick, Newton, Somerville, Stoneham, Waltham, Watertown, Winchester, Woburn, and beyond.

Learn Practical Self Defense for Real-World Situations

Unlike many martial arts programs that focus primarily on sport competition, Castoldi’s Jujitsu trains students to respond effectively during realistic confrontations.

Students learn how to defend against:

  • Unarmed attackers
  • Attacks from the front and behind
  • Knife threats and knife attacks
  • Club and blunt weapon attacks
  • Gun threats and weapon disarms
  • Multiple attackers
  • Seated attacks
  • Ground attacks while lying on your back or stomach
  • Situations involving family members or loved ones

Training begins with common self defense and mugging scenarios and progressively develops into advanced defensive skills that emphasize awareness, control, and effective responses under pressure.

Industry-Leading Weapon Defense Training

Professor Dave Castoldi is widely recognized for his expertise in weapon disarming techniques. Students learn to defend against a variety of weapon threats, including:

  • Knives
  • Handguns
  • Clubs
  • Baseball bats
  • Chains
  • Multiple weapon combinations

The system teaches students to maintain composure, control distance, and apply proven defensive techniques during stressful situations.

Develop Confidence Through Advanced Training

As students progress through the curriculum, they learn to react instinctively through touch, positioning, and control rather than relying solely on sight.

Advanced training exercises challenge students to apply techniques under increasingly realistic conditions, helping them build:

  • Confidence
  • Situational awareness
  • Reaction speed
  • Defensive decision-making
  • Physical control under pressure

Our goal is to help students develop skills they can rely on when it matters most.

Self Defense Training for Women

Professor Castoldi strongly encourages women to participate in training. Our classes focus on practical defensive skills that can help women respond to threatening situations, build confidence, and improve personal safety awareness.

Students learn realistic strategies for dealing with:

  • Personal safety threats
  • Assault situations
  • Domestic violence scenarios
  • Common street crimes
  • Unwanted physical confrontations

Training is conducted in a supportive and respectful environment suitable for all experience levels.
